allergy
noun
An allergy is a negative reaction that our body experiences in response to the presence of a specific animal, plant or substance, either through touch, ingestion or proximity. For example, you may be allergic to dust, pollen, dry fruits, or cat or dog fur, and each person may react differently, i.e., you may cough or sneeze, you may get a rash, spots, or swollen lips or hands. Allergies are not contagious and not everyone has them.
