hydroalcoholic gel

Hydroalcoholic gel is a clear, slightly thick liquid, composed of alcohol, water and other components, and is used to protect the hands from viruses and bacteria when soap and water are not available. It is used before and after touching surfaces or objects, and it is recommendable to use in public spaces (e.g. schools, hospitals, shops) and private spaces (e.g. at home). If used correctly it reduces the risk of transmission of infections.

It may also be called hydrogel or disinfectant gel.
