lipothymia

noun

Lipothymia refers to the momentary loss of consciousness. When you have lipothymia your lungs carry on working but your heart either starts beating really fast or slows down. You can feel dizzy, unable to see anything, and, if you are standing, you may fall to the ground. When a person has lipothymia or faints, they feel as if they were dead or asleep for a few seconds. It can happen for many reasons; for example, you may have pushed yourself too much, you may have stayed in the sun for too long, or your blood sugar levels may have dropped.

You have to watch out when a person faints and falls to the ground because they could swallow their tongue (which is very dangerous), as they lose control of their body parts for a very short time.

We typically refer to the word faint, and doctors also use the medical word syncope.
