disability
A disability is a lack of ability or difficulty to do something which may be physical or mental, or both physical and mental. A person may have a disability from birth, or it may be the result of a disease or accident.
A child with a disability may have difficulty seeing, hearing, speaking, walking, etc., or with other abilities. Children with disabilities can often do the same things as a person who does not have a disability, but in a different way, for example, by using prostheses (such as an artificial leg) or objects to help them (such as glasses or a cane). For example, if they cannot walk, they may be able to get around using a wheelchair. In many cases, disabilities do not prevent them from being able to go to school, play sports, play, etc., and when they grow up, go to work like everyone else.
Disability is not a disease.
