heat stroke
noun
A heat stroke is a sudden rise in body temperature, and especially happens in the summer when you are sunbathing with no protection, or when you do a lot of physical exercise. When you have heat stroke, your skin turns red, your head hurts a lot, you have a fever, you feel dizzy and you may even faint. To avoid heat stroke, you should drink lots of water, wear a hat and avoid doing exercise when the sun is at its strongest.
If the heat stroke is solely caused by sun exposure it can also be called sunstroke.
