pimple
noun
A pimple is a lump (a protuberance), that you get somewhere on your body. It is usually red, but can be white if it has oil or pus in it. Sometimes it may bother you or be itchy, and you may need to scratch it. If you scratch it too much, it may burst with blood, get infected or even leave a mark. That’s why it’s best if it goes away on its own, even though there are creams that can get rid of them. Pimples or spots grow mainly during adolescence, but they can also appear for other reasons, such as when you have chickenpox, atopic dermatitis, an allergy to something or an insect bite.
When it is very small, we can call it a spot.
